Pink Mickey Mug

Walt Disney World Plastic Mug
This totally hot pink (sorry for the clash with the background) Mickey Mouse mug has the 1980's written all over it.  The mug is made of a hard plastic and measures 6 1/2 inches high and about 3 inches in diameter.  Both sides of the mug have the same image of Mickey and his name along with the Walt Disney World Big D/Globe Head logo outlined in white.  (To off-set the pink/red clash, I'm sure.)

Same Tree, Different Angle

Swiss Family Island Treehouse postcard
01110207 (vertical)
This postcard in the 0111 series was created with two different views of the Swiss Family Treehouse.  This is the vertical design.  You can see the horizontal card in a previous post.  The backs of the cards are identical, using the early Florida Flag logo and the original castle icon.  This card from my collection was mailed in 1974, one of the few indications I have of how long the Florida Flag logo may have stayed around the parks.

Donald Premier Plate

Donald Duck 50th Birthday Plate & Holder
'The Wise Little Hen, 1934'
1984
Continuing with my 2012 Christmas, here is one of two plates I received.  The plate depicts a scene from 'The Wise Little Hen,' Donald Duck's premier movie from 1934.  I received the present from a friend that visited the Theme Park Connection store in Winter Garden, FL during his recent trip to Orlando.  The plastic frame, made in the USA, has a fake wood look to it and uses the original WDW font without the Big D/Globe Head.
The plate, in celebration of Donald's 50th Birthday, is one of three sold in the parks in 1984.  The plate was 'designed and made for Disneyland and Walt Disney World.'  I don't know if the plate was originally sold in the WDW frame or not, but it fits perfectly.  I have found the plate set sold together on e-bay but they did not include the frame.

Big Bad WDW Puzzle

Walt Disney World Puzzle
Big Bad Wolf and Three Little Pigs
A second of my vintage WDW Christmas gifts that I received this year was this 'Interlocking Picture Puzzle' produced by Jaymar featuring the Big Bad Wolf and Three Little Pigs.  The box has the original Big D/Globe Head logo on the front but other than the obvious Disney short film I don't know the direct connection between this item and the parks.
It appears that the puzzle was purchased off property at Conley's for 84 cents.  Unless Conley's was a reseller, I am assuming this was sold as a promotional product for the parks.
When I opened the box, it looked as if the e-bay seller had mixed in another Disney related puzzle.  But upon putting it together, with the quick help of my 10 year old, we discovered a surprise border of Disney characters around the main image.
